ABSTRACT: Addressing Ethical Dilemmas in Vocational Education Research examines the ethical considerations and challenges encountered in conducting research within vocational education contexts. This study explores the complexities of ethical decision-making, confidentiality, consent, and participant rights in vocational education research practices. The objectives were: to identify common ethical dilemmas faced by researchers in vocational education, to analyze ethical guidelines and frameworks relevant to vocational research, and to propose strategies for mitigating ethical risks and promoting ethical conduct in research. A survey research design was employed to collect data from vocational researchers, educators, and institutional review board members, offering diverse perspectives on ethical issues in vocational education research. A sample size of 200 respondents was purposively selected to include participants from universities and vocational training institutes across Delta State, Nigeria, recognized for their commitment to ethical research practices. The case study focused on ethical challenges encountered during a vocational education research project in Warri, highlighting dilemmas related to informed consent and confidentiality. Findings indicated that while researchers were aware of ethical guidelines, practical implementation varied, leading to ethical ambiguities and concerns. It is recommended that vocational researchers should undergo ethics training, develop clear protocols for informed consent and data confidentiality, establish robust ethical review processes, and foster a culture of ethical awareness and accountability in vocational education research.
